Lucknow | Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh, alleging widespread corruption, deteriorating law and order, and policy failures across key sectors.
Addressing party workers and leaders from various districts at the Samajwadi Party state headquarters in Lucknow on Wednesday, Yadav said that “commission-based politics” has reached its peak in the state and alleged that corruption and illegal mining have become widespread under the current regime.
Allegations of Law and Order Breakdown
Yadav claimed that the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh has completely collapsed, stating that serious crimes and murders are being reported daily while criminals remain fearless. He alleged that no section of society feels safe under the present administration.
He further accused the government of neglecting key public issues such as inflation, unemployment, and infrastructure development.
Criticism of Infrastructure and Governance
The former Chief Minister alleged large-scale irregularities in infrastructure projects, citing alleged financial discrepancies in major road projects, including the Gorakhpur four-lane link road and the Lucknow Green Corridor. He claimed that thousands of crores were misused in these developments.
He also alleged that corruption is prevalent across departments, with budget allocations being misused under the BJP government.
Allegations on Education, Health and Power Sector
Yadav said that education and healthcare are no longer priorities for the government, claiming that schools are being shut while hospitals remain in poor condition, leaving patients without adequate treatment.
He also criticized the power sector, alleging that no significant increase in electricity generation has taken place during the BJP’s tenure, while public access to electricity remains inadequate and costly.

Attack on Employment and MSME Sector
The SP chief said that unemployment continues to rise and the MSME sector is in distress. He accused the government of failing to support small industries and job creation initiatives.
PDA Politics and Reservation Issue
Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the BJP government is undermining reservation benefits for the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, and Alpasankhyak) communities, claiming that policies are being designed against their interests.
He described PDA as representing “the oppressed, deprived, and marginalized sections of society” and accused the BJP of targeting these communities politically and socially.
Vision for 2027 Elections
Calling upon party workers to maintain discipline and appropriate conduct, Yadav expressed confidence that the BJP would be defeated in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
He said that a Samajwadi Party government would focus on policies for farmers, employment generation, dairy and industrial development, and improvements in health, education, electricity, and law and order.
Claims on Past SP Government Performance
Yadav also defended his party’s previous tenure, stating that several power plants were established during the Samajwadi Party government, which continue to supply electricity to the state.
He highlighted infrastructure projects such as the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, calling it one of the finest in the country, and said that plans were made to develop agricultural markets for farmers, which he alleged have since been neglected or dismantled.
He concluded by asserting that only a Samajwadi Party government can ensure development and justice for all sections of society in Uttar Pradesh.
